"Narrative of catastrophe"
The main idea of the project:
Create a virtual space - where the information flow of media from different countries in the period from 1986 to 2020 "evaporates" information about the danger caused by the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on April 26, 1986.
The content that "settles" in the columns of newspapers forms a colorful multi-layered collage for the world community about the causes and consequences of this catastrophe. But only in that specific point of the present, where the spectator is, the outline of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant consists of articles. The articles are arranged in space in accordance with the timeline of key events at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, so you can explore when the first information appeared in periodicals for the population. See which countries' media were the primary sources of information and misinformation, and so on. Follow how the rhetoric of Ukrainian newspapers has changed since the Soviet Union to the period of independence.
Using critical thinking and technology, you can analyze the whole narrative that has formed over time. Everyone's personal attitude and conclusions form a common stream of conscious use of radiation and gives hope that such a catastrophe will not be repeated.
